SEAT CUPRA FORMENTOR

The SEAT Cupra Formentor gets its name from the Formentor peninsula on the Spanish island of Majorca – a nod to SEAT’s Spanish roots. The public first saw the car when it was previewed as a near-production concept vehicle at the Geneva Motor Show in 2019. SEAT initially revealed the production version in March 2020. There was a slight pushback due to the cancellation of the 2020 Geneva Motor Show because of the Coronavirus pandemic. Production began in late September 2020. 

The SEAT Cupra Formentor is a compact crossover SUV manufactured by SEAT under the Cupra performance-orientated sub-brand. It is the first car specifically designed for the sub-brand – marketed as a coupe SUV. 

The car is available with a 245 PS (180 kW; 242 hp) 1.4-litre plug-in hybrid and a range-topping 2.0-litre turbo generating 310 PS (228 kW; 306 hp) available for VZ models. Specifically designed for those who appreciate a bit of speed, the VZ models are – with their name deriving from the Spanish word ‘veloz’, meaning fast. If you prefer, the plug-in hybrid combination delivers an approximate range of 50 km (31 mi) with a full-electric mode. All versions of the SEAT Cupra Formentor come with a 7-speed DSG transmission.
